FAQ 1: Almond rice milk for toddlers and infants

I would like to find out about the safety of consuming Vitriz almond rice drink for toddlers.
This is a regular morning and evening drink for my 1.8 year old son
Is it possible to get a breakdown of electrolyte values? Do you know if consumption is safe at these ages or if there are additional additives in the drink beyond what is indicated on the packaging?

Answer – Vitariz almond rice milk is not a milk substitute for infants or toddlers. It is a simple beverage that is safe to consume moderately, but not exclusively as some important part of nutrition. We do not recommend making it a regular daily drink unless the child is allergic to lactose and his/her diet is handled by a professional and contains all of the recommended calcium and amino acids required for health and growth. Asking the nutritionist to factor in non-dairy milk beverages into the diet and ask whether they recommend using them is the best way. Besides, infants and toddlers under 5 years old should not consume rice drinks on a regullar basis, because of the levels of arsenic in these products.

FAQ 2: Buying vitariz rice milk in the US

Answer – to all of our dear Israeli vitariz fans 😥 – we’re sorry but Vitariz is not available in the US, it doesn’t have an official distributor to handle the tidious FDA approval process.

I‘m writing you to ask you to protest against the plan of the Dutch government to increase the VAT for plant/based milk from 1 January 2024.
Maybe you can bundle this protest through working together with other non-diary producers, such as Oatly.
I already protested as a consumer but the responsible departement of the ministry for public Health will not stop with its plan.

Answer – Indeed, this is atrocious, but since we and many other producers reside within the EU, the impact shouldn’t be so terrible.
