I think it was 7 years ago. I was in a vegan shopping frenzy spending all my time and money on culinary expeditions in various markets in our area (which is known to be one of the world’s most condensed vegan culture regions both consumer and producer wise). My biggest problem was non dairy milk. It seemed that every time I found something decent then it was mysteriously out of stock a week later. What didn’t I try? Rice, Spelt, Oat, Almond, Coconut.
Then I saw this new product on one of the shelves – a Vitariz “Rice Almond Milk”. I was curious and had to give a try. I went home and brewed a fresh macchinetta.
Poured some of the Vitariz, room temp, no sugar, added a little sprinkle of Cinnamon. Sip…
I never tasted such a delicious cup of coffee.
This was a revelation, and the beginning of a long friendship. Soon I saw it everywhere, and my initial fears that it will vanish like past products were disproved.
